Born on December 31, 1966, Kimberly Jane Hoban, cherished wife of Derek Hoban for 27 years, passed away on December 30, 2023. She is survived by her loving parents Viktor and Betty Loewen, brother Derek (Tara) Loewen, and sister Tricia (Shelby) Wiebe, mother-in-law Shirley Hoban, brother-in-law David Hoban along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kim's joyful childhood was filled with wonderful visits with cousins and friends, gymnastics, water and snow skiing, and cherished moments at the family cottage. A tenacious spirit, she mastered slalom skiing at the age of 8 and embraced various home renovation projects, showcasing her creativity and determination. A graduate of Westgate Mennonite Collegiate, she then continued on to receive a Bachelor of Nursing degree. Kim found fulfillment in her work as a VON (Victoria Order of Nurses), providing compassionate care until health challenges intervened. Undeterred, she continued using her nursing knowledge to support her family and others, exemplifying empathy and resilience. Diagnosed with inoperable and non-treatable glandular cancer on October 25, 2023, Kim faced the news with determination to savour and live each moment fully. Her brother Derek and sister Tricia provided unwavering support, creating a special bond during her last weeks.
