Richard H. Fried, VMD
Medical Director
Doctor Fried, our medical director and owner, has been serving the Upper West Side for over 30 years. An alumnus of Oberlin College, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. While there, he served as president of his class, was elected to the veterinary honor society, and received the prestigious Merck Award. Dr. Fried went on to complete an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Penn before moving back to New York City.
After spending 12 successful years as an associate veterinarian at Westside Veterinary Center and Animal General, Dr. Fried founded Lincoln Square Veterinary Hospital in 2000. Since then, he has seen it grow into a flourishing practice where his commitment to client relationships and the highest level of companion animal care continues to attract patients from all over the city.
Dr. Fried is also a member of Veterinarians for Animal Rights, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). At home he attends to a parrot, a turtle, a fish, rascally rats, and the other loves of his life: his wife Stella and daughters Lila and Sylvie.
Victor Koos, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Koos grew up in Mount Kisco, New York. He was always drawn towards animals and first started working as an assistant at a veterinary hospital in high school. Dr. Koos studied at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry where he earned his bachelor’s degree in wildlife science. He then worked as a field ornithologist on various research and conservation projects before working as an assistant technician at Lincoln Square Veterinary Hospital. After a few years, Dr. Koos decided to go to veterinary school and received his degree from Cornell University in 2021. After graduating he began working as a general practitioner in a private practice in Brooklyn prior to returning to work at LSVH as a veterinarian. As a general practitioner, Dr. Koos has special interests in preventative medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. Dr. Koos lives with his partner Jamie, their dog Xander, two cats Margot and Orange, and a variety of tropical fish.
Zhuoxing Li, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Meet our newest associate! Dr. Li grew up with two mini poodles in southern China. Her childhood dream was to become an illustrator but her dog’s suffering from diseases prompted her to pursue veterinary medicine. Dr. Li attended UC San Diego undergrad and received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Cornell University. Dr. Li’s interests include internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, crafting, and cooking.

Jane Kosovsky, DVM
Specialty Surgeon
Dr. Kosovsky specializes in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery and, as our principal surgeon, handles all of her patients with the highest caliber of care and expertise. After earning her degree from Ohio State's veterinary school, she then completed her veterinary internship and surgical residency at Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York City and has over 18 years of surgery experience behind her. As one of the most respected veterinary surgeons in the city, our clients and their pets are fortunate to be able to put their trust in her.

Hospital Administrator
Alex has been in the field of veterinary medicine since 1994. Being a licensed veterinary technician in both New York and New Jersey, she brings a wealth of knowledge to our practice. Alex has been managing on the clinical and administrative side for over 25 years and heads up our management team. She enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their three dogs—Sassy, Cooper and Jax.
Sharon Belongeay
Bookkeeper
Originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, Sharon came to New York as a dancer, later becoming involved in costume design. She graduated from Traphagen School of Fashion at the top of her class, while supporting herself as a freelance bookkeeper. After starting a family, she became CFO for a real estate investment company. At the same time, she turned her passion for collecting into “My Share Antiques,” an Upper West Side venture for almost a decade.
Sharon has been associated with LSVets since its inception in 1999. Initially employed for her expertise as a bookkeeper, her business acumen has afforded her the opportunity to become the Lincoln Square Veterinary Financial Administrator.
