Almost zero carb carnivore waffle recipe

Keto Carnivore Waffle - The Paffle Recipe - Ketofocus (4)

Paffles are a keto carnivore version of the waffle.

These almost zero carb waffles are made up of an egg, cheese and pork rinds.

They are called paffles for two reasons. These waffles contain pork rinds and they are high in protein too.

Paffles are an excellent breakfast option for those following a carnivore diet. If a carnivore gets tired of bacon and eggs in the morning, they can try a paffle. These paffles are delicious with a runny egg placed on top or slather in butter.

Paffle waffle maker

To make carnivore waffles, you will need an electric waffle maker.

A favorite waffle maker is the mini waffle iron by Dash. This works well for making paffles because it is small and makes the perfect sized almost zero carb waffles.

Larger models of waffle makers will for making keto carnivore waffles as well. Pour the paffle batter in the center of the waffle iron. There is no need to spread out the waffle batter. The batter will spread on it’s own creating a perfect paffle waffle.

Do I need to grease my waffle maker?

You won’t need to grease or butter your waffle maker before cooking paffles. The fat from the cheese and pork rinds will release as the waffle begins to cook. This will keep the paffle from sticking to the waffle iron.

How to store paffles

You can meal prep paffles ahead of time.

I make a batch up ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator or freeze. When I want a carnivore waffle, I reheat it in the toaster or oven.

To freeze paffles, flash freeze each waffle on a plate or pan in the freezer for 30 minutes. Store in a freezer safe bag.

  4. I’ve been making these for years. I couldn’t stand the eggy taste of chaffles and thought there’s got to be a way to get away from it. I used ground up pork rinds to bread pork, chicken or as a replacement for breadcrumbs in meatloaf so why not give it a go. Now I’ll add seasonings, different cheeses or diced jalapeños or diced dill pickles. The options are endless, depends on my mood

  5. Is this raw pork rinds or the ones that come are fried and come in a bag?

    Reply

    1. Use the ones that are fried in a bag. Typically you find them in the chip aisle at the grocery store.
