I cut a video a few days ago about the content opportunities during the summer months. In short, as more people step away from their video or podcast routines, the greater the opportunity for you to step in and grab some eyes and ears.So where do you start? Believe it or not, content for your social channels and website is pretty much finished. Today I challenge you to look at the things you've already created and REPURPOSE them in a different form. Here are five ways you (or your team) can do that:#1) Blog to Video: Take an old blog post and turn it into a short explainer video. Highlight the key points and use visuals to keep it engaging.#2) Video to Blog: Transcribe an old video and turn it into a detailed blog post. Add extra insights or updates to keep it fresh. AI can be helpful here, but don't settle for the first draft. Keep prompting until it mimics your tone and personality. Let me know if you'd like more tips around this technique. #3) Customer Testimonial: Create a dynamic graphic with a customer testimonial and share it on Instagram and LinkedIn. This is something you can do in minutes on Canva. #4) Podcast Highlights: If you have a podcast, reach back to old episodes and repurpose them into social media videos. Make as many as possible for YouTube Shorts. Sidenote: Make sure your podcast is on YouTube, and link your Shorts to the podcast. My clients are seeing huge gains with this method. #5) Flashback Post: Share a "flashback" to a particularly popular or insightful piece of content, explaining why it’s still relevant today. The point is you've done the work, just dust it off and use it again, but in a different form. Let me know if you have any questions! #content #podcasting #video #contentmarketing

I couldn't help it. I had to peel off a clip from the season 3 finale of Sounds of Solar, a Digital Legend Production. Based in Eden Prairie, EVS, Inc., is one of the country's premiere solar engineering firms, working on large scale projects across the country (even the project in Vegas that powered the Super Bowl this year!)The goal was to feature their incredibly gifted engineers which will help recruit new talent and boost authority. And it's working. Their final thoughts before closing out season three was not promptedby me sitting just off camera -- but I couldn't have appreciated it more. They have no idea how much I appreciated their words, because what they said is exactly my goal for every client -- go in with a plan, stick to it, and make everyone look great! Thanks guys -- you're the best! Looking forward to season FOUR!

I'm really proud of these three, Christoph Bruhn, PE, Russell Hamilton, and Prahalad Shivshankaran. Three brilliant engineers from EVS, Inc. who took on the challenge of hosting this season's Sounds of Solar Podcast. They were fantastic, and the downloads proved it. The team, along with Jordan Hermes, meticulously planned each episode to resonate with our target audience. They featured authoritative voices from the renewable energy industry, proudly took a stance in defense of renewables, and provided a unique glimpse into the remarkable culture that EVS fosters, demonstrating the company's values from the inside out. This is what long-form content can do – it gives you the time and space to express your ideas, build loyalty, and engage with your audience on a deeper level. And it all starts with a strategic plan.As we wrap up Season 3, we are already excitedly planning for Season 4, which will launch after a well-deserved summertime break. From all of us at Digital Legend - Thanks Team! And if elevating your authority and brand is something needed at your company, don't hesitate to reach out and learn the process. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ #SoundsOfSolar #RenewableEnergy #EVSInc #podcast #StrategicPlanning

Watching Kathryn jump out of bed this morning, filled with excitement for the last day of school before summer vacation, brought back memories. We all remember that feeling. The anticipation of long, lazy days ahead, full of adventures and endless possibilities. As a content agency owner, I know the challenges of maintaining consistency in our content during times of change. It's easy to get caught up in the summer mindset and let our strategy slide. But our audience still craves valuable and engaging content, even when they're relaxing by the pool. So, how do we create a content calendar that keeps our audience hooked all summer long? Here are a few tips:1. Embrace the summer theme. Incorporate seasonal topics and imagery to make your content timely and relevant.2. Plan ahead. Brainstorm ideas now and create a content calendar for the summer months. Stay organized and ensure a consistent flow of content.3. Be flexible. Have a plan, but be open to making adjustments based on current events, trends, or audience feedback.4. Engage with your audience. Encourage followers to share their own summer experiences. Incorporate their stories into your content. Create a sense of community and relatability.5. Have fun! Inject some fun and personality into your summer content. It's a time for celebration and relaxation.Just like my kids waking up with a smile on the last day of school, let's approach our summer content with enthusiasm and a fresh perspective. With a little planning and creativity, we can keep our audience engaged and coming back for more, all season long. You've got this!

This is Kim and Pen Holderness. Old friends from back in our Raleigh days. Kim worked with my wife, Kelcey, at WRAL-TV, while Penn worked at cross-town WNCN as the main anchor. These two were so much fun. We would hang out while our son, Charlie, and their daughter, Lola, played together as kids (same age). Then Christmas Jammies. The parody the two produced in 2013 went viral on YouTube. They found their calling and for the past 10 years, they have produced hilarious parody's of raising children and being a Gen X'er in this crazy world. They wrote a book on marriage, won the Amazing Race, and now have a book about living with ADHD. ADHD is Awesome: A Guide To (Mostly) Thriving With ADHD. ADHD is Penn's superpower that he's been able to harness to work for him. They are in town for a book signing at Mall of America today (Friday 4PM). My wife interviewed them for a quick segment on Fox 9.If you are someone who creates videos or podcasts, I pulled this segment of the interview out for you. Penn dives into their content creation process. He credits the craziness of local TV news for helping him create viral classics. Also, listen to how long he has to capture attention. We can learn a lot as content creators from these two. Plan, capture attention up front, take out the fluff, and serve your target audience. Love these two!#theholdernessfamily #content #contentcreation

Last year there were about 600 brand new podcasts -- per day! Wow. Oversaturation? Not even close. Best industry guess is 44% of podcasts have three or fewer episodes. These are folks that weren't serious. Had no plan - no goal. That makes me smile. It means more opportunity for you. My clients have dozens and dozens of episodes. We're editing the 106th episode of the Results Driven Podcast (from RE/MAX Results). Here's your strategy:--->Have someone keep a schedule and hold your feet to the fire--->Have someone help you craft content that reaches your target audience and helps achieve your goal.--->Hyper focus your topic. Talk about your specialty. You're not talking about real estate, your focus is LUXURY real estate. You're not the renewable energy podcast, you're the podcast focusing on solar panels. --->Along these lines, serve a focused area if possible. Edina Advice Givers, for example (the first podcast I produced for Tim Murphy - 10,000 downloads in the first year. Conclusion. A lot of people are jumping in the podcasting pool -- but they quickly realize they can't swim. There's opportunity if you want it.
